Letter from the Chair

Dear Prospective Student:

Thank you for your interest in the Doctoral Program in Organizational Leadership. It is a program designed specifically for the practicing educational administrator. The primary focus of the program is the application of leadership theory to the processes and practices of educational administration. Upon successful completion of the program, the candidate is granted the Doctor of Education degree. (Ed.D)

Practicing administrators and managers can pursue advanced study while continuing their professional careers. The problems facing administrators serve as case studies for individual and group activities.

Here is what Dr. Terrel H. Bell, former U.S. Secretary of Education has to say about our program:; "More than any other doctoral program I have studied, this one takes advantage of opportunities for students who are practicing administrators to share with each other and teach each other. The scholarship is concentrated on practical and applied aspects of school administration and business leadership. The very nature of the program keeps the faculty close to schools and public and private organizations and the daily problems of administrators".

Good luck in your future educational endeavors!

Sincerely,
Dr. Barbara. Poling, Chair
