The developmental cycle is driven by the practicums which occur approximately every eight weeks. A practicum provides an opportunity for the entire community of students to come together and network, as well as each year cohort to work together in their arena.
Application of knowledge and skills is done through field work in the student's or other organizations. The practicum is used to integrate field work and theory across the strands. Students demonstrate, are assessed and receive feedback on new learnings and skill development. Students engage with faculty on input and conversation about the next cycle of field work.
At the end of each year in July, all students come together on the University campus for a one week community event. This networks students across years to learn large system skills and interventions and to focus on a specific topic or issue.
