Shawn Johnson-Witt

Bio:

Shawn received her B.A. in Urban Studies at California State University, Northridge, CA and her M.A. in Education from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, TN. From 1994-2002 she was an Assistant Dean for Academic Services at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ.

In July 2002, she began her career at the University of La Verne as the Coordinating Academic Advisor for the Liberal Studies Program. She currently serves as Director of the Program.

She is continuing her studies in the field of higher education as a Ph.D. candidate at Claremont Graduate University. Her research interests include African American student retention at predominately white institutions of higher education.
