Bio:

Shawna was born and raised in La Verne and that "hometown feel" made it hard to stay away. She moved to Diamond Bar and only stayed 3 years before returning to La Verne. Both her parents graduated from La Verne College in the late 50s. Her dad graduated with a B.A. in Business and her mom with a B.A. in PE and a Lifetime Teaching Credential. Her dad became a volunteer firefighter (as a hobby) for La Verne for 39 years. Her mom just retired from 42 wonderful years of teaching-approximately 35 of those years at Allen Avenue Elementary in San Dimas.

Shawna is a Bonita High School graduate-class of 1980. She received her A.S. degree in Animal Health Technology from MSAC in 1983 and graduated from ULV in 1996 with a B.S. in Psychology.

Shawna started working for ULV in October of 1989 at the School of Continuing Education when it was located in Pomona. She worked for SCE for approximately 4 years then on campus at CAPA for another 4 years. She left the University in 1998 to venture out into the world and ended up coming back in April of 2000 to work in the Education Department.

She loves the great outdoors, hiking, biking, and photography. She also loves animals and children, they make her smile and realize what life is all about.
