Concentration in Financial Management

Core Curriculum (15 semester hours)

Designed by industry professionals, the core courses provide the key competencies essential for effective health services management. All MHA students must complete the following core courses:

HSM 500 Managing and Leading in Health Services Organizations
HSM 501 Recent Trends and Issues in Health Services
HSM 502 Financial and Cost Analysis
HSM 503 Healthcare Economics or
HSM 580 Economics of Managed Care
HSM 504 Organizational Communications

Financial Management (12 semester hours)

Designed to provide health services professionals with in depth knowledge, skills, and techniques to better manage the financial, budgetary, and cost containment challenges of their departments, programs, units, and delivery systems.
