Housing Staff

The Housing and Res. Life Staff is here to assist you in your endeavor to contribute to the development of your residence hall community, the Housing and Residential Life department has provided staff, facilities, and policies. You will undoubtedly get to know the staff that lives and works in your hall--Community Assistants, Resident Assistants, Assistant Directors, Maintenance, and Housekeeping. These staff members provide a variety of services for the residence hall community.

Byron E. Howlett, Jr.

Supervises the overall Housing and Residential Life Department and provides direct supervision to the professional staff. Specific responsibilities that directly impact students include overseeing maintenance requests, room reservations, housing billing, license agreement releases, and RA training. Student Assistants offer support in carrying out these responsibilities. Office is located in the Harris Lounge, B-Bottom of the Oaks, and is open during regular business hours.

Full-time live-in professional staff member who provides coordination of the Residential Life Program and Staff, along with responsibilities in programming, counseling, advising, conduct, etc. The office is located in the Harris Lounge, B-bottom of the Oaks Residence Hall. The Associate Director, Residential Life, assists the Director of Housing and Residential Life in directing, planning, and facilitating the overall Residence Life program.

The Associate Director, Housing, is a full-time professional responsible for the service administration of the Office of Housing and Residential Life. The Associate Director, Housing, is responsible for the supervision of the student community assistants, administers on-campus assignments and off-campus services, coordinates the residence telecommunication system, and oversees the general day-to-day functions of the Office of Housing and Residential Life. This person also advises the Residence Hall Association (RHA) and the Peer Judicial Review Board (PRB). The Associate Director, Housing, assists the Director of Housing and Residential Life in directing, planning, and facilitating the overall Housing program.

Area Coordinator (Oaks)
Full-time live-in professional staff member who provides direct supervision of Resident Assistants, along with responsibilities in counseling, programming, advising, and conduct. The Office can be found in the Office of Housing and Residential Life, which is located in the Harris Lounge, B-bottom of the Oaks Residence Hall. The Area Coordinator is also in charge of staff selection processes.

The Community Coordinator is a live-in para-professional staff member who provides direct supervision for Community Assistants. Their office can be found in the Office of Housing and Residential Life, which is located in the Harris Lounge, B-bottom of the Oaks Residence Hall. The Community Coordinator is responsible for the Housing and Residential Life Diversity Initiative.

Leos Involving Families & Everyone (LIFE)

The Graduate Coordinator is the live-in staff member available to Graduate student residents to provide counseling, programming, enforce policy and act as a liaison to the Office of Housing and Residential Life. As the LIFE Intern, they serve as the main liaison from Housing & Residential Life to Parents, Families, and Friends who play an important and instrumental role in the lives our residential students. The LIFE Intern recognizes the importance of our relationships with parents, family, and friends, by providing opportunities for them to share in the campus life of ULV. This will be accomplished by providing information and events to parents, family, and friends.

She is a live-in PARA-professional staff member who has responsibilities in residential life, programming, counseling, advising and conduct. The Assistant Residence Coordinator assists the Associate Directors in planning, and facilitating the overall Housing and Residence Life program.
