Part-Time Teaching Opportunities

UPDATED 10/10/2008

Founded in 1891, the University of La Verne is a Carnegie Doctoral Intensive university, enrolling more than 8,000 students (6,000 FTE). The University’s thirty-six acre central campus is located in La Verne, California, approximately 30 miles east of Los Angeles, beneath the San Gabriel Mountains in the Inland Valley, an area of exceptional economic growth, diversity, and cultural opportunities. In addition, the University College of Law is situated in nearby Ontario, California. Regional campuses are also located in Central and Southern California. Undergraduate, masters and doctoral degrees are offered by the College of Arts and Sciences, Business and Public Management and Organizational Leadership and Law.

The mission of the University of La Verne encompasses four fundamental points. A Values orientation enables students to become reflective about personal, professional and societal values. Community and diversity encourages students to understand and appreciate the diversity of cultures. Lifelong learning plants the seeds for continuing personal and professional growth. Community service inspires students with regard to civic responsibility.

As a result of ULV’s diverse student body, we have been designated by the Department of Education as a minority- and Hispanic-serving institution. We are actively seeking candidates who have experience and skills in creative teaching approaches with such a diverse population.

To apply for a PART-TIME TEACHING position, see details below.

To the extent possible, omit photographs and any information which is personal/private and which is not directly related to our screening of applications to determine whether the application shows sufficient evidence of skills and ability to perform the work of the position (As a committed Equal Opportunity Employer we make every attempt to not have access to information which could be thought to unduly bias the selection process).

Note:  Successful candidates will be placed in a pool of instructors and are not guaranteed an immediate teaching assignment.  Assignments will be made as the need arises at the various Regional Campus locations.
