Getting a Temporary Employment Authorization Document(EAD)
If you applied for Optional Practical Training (OPT) and have not received a decision after 90 days of receipt of your Application by the USCIS, you may request an Interim Employment Authorization Document.
- Schedule an appointment at the USCIS Los Angeles District Office using Infopass https://infopass.uscis.gov/
- Take the following to your appointment: your I-20, passport, I-94, Form I-797 receipt notice, and any other notices you have received regarding your application.
Note: You should not have to pay the fee again.
