No ULV parking permit is required to park bicycles in the ULV bike racks. Bicycles should be securely locked.
Vehicle parking permits are required to park in the ULV parking lots.
The ULV parking permit procedures and regulations are as follows:
STUDENTS
Students will get their permits at Student Accounts at the time
that they pay their fees. Students will fill out a spreadsheet that will be available
at Student Accounts at the time they purchase their permit. The student
will provide his-her student ID number and vehicle license plate
number. The fee for permits will be $10.00 per semester - $20.00 per year (2004-2005).
CITATIONS
Citation enforcement of the permit requirement will not begin until October 1st.
Warnings may be issued prior to that date. The permit requirement will be enforced M-F 7 AM to
11 PM and on weekends from 7 AM to 5 PM. ULV does not enforce the requirement during sporting
events.
APPEALS
If personnel receive a citation from Campus Safety staff that they
feel is unjustified, the first level of appeal is to the Director of Campus
Safety. Do not take it to the La Verne Police Department because they will
just refer you back to Campus Safety. Since ULV uses LVPD citation forms, it is sometimes difficult to distinguish a citation issued by Campus Safety staff from one
written by LVPD personnel. If the citation is for parking permit, car pool
or 20 minute zone violation, you can be 99% sure that it was written by
Campus Safety staff. If it's for handicapped parking violation it could be
either one, and if it's for registration violation, it's definitely LVPD.
Either call ext. 4949 or bring the citation by the office and we can
determine where to take the appeal.
If you have further questions regarding the ULV parking permit procedure please contact the Campus Safety Director at ext. 4949 for further clarification.
