The Wilson Librarians are beta-testing using instant messaging as another way for you to get research help. You can type your question right into the chat box on the website, or enter our IM handle into your own instant message service (Google Talk, MSN, AIM) and ask questions from wherever you are.
If you are having trouble with Meebo, or if it is showing us offline during regular hours, try using Mozilla Firefox. You can download the Firefox web browser for free. What is Ask A Librarian?
This service allows ULV students, staff and faculty to communicate with a live librarian 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through an online chat session. This is a great service to use when research help isn't available through Meebo. You can log in from a dorm room, home, work, or anyplace that you can get an internet connection. Librarians will help you with your research question and even guide you to relevant web pages for your research and information need. You will work with either a ULV librarian or another librarian that knows what services ULV offers. See the information page for more about this service. |
