The Ralph M. Parsons Foundation's generosity will enable the Literacy Center to promote literacy and become a true demonstration center for the local community.

The Literacy Center was the recipient of a $100,000 grant, awarded by The Parsons Foundation. The money is to be spent to build three observation booths in the Literacy Center. These observation booths will then be equipped with the technology to broadcast tutoring sessions to the classroom for demonstration purposes. In addition, future technological features will be added to allow for the recording of tutoring sessions and possible on-line broadcasts. Construction on the booths is slated to begin in November of 2005 and completion is expected by January of 2006.
