What are the freshman admission requirements?
We require 4 years of English, 3 years of social studies, 3 years of math, and 2 years of science.
Is there a foreign language requirment to be admitted to ULV?
No. We do not require a language to be taken prior to being addmitted to ULV. However, once a student is here, all students must take a year of foreign language or take a placement exam to test out of it.
Does ULV look at high school grades or SAT scores for transfer students?
No. However, students with less than 32 college units are required to submit high school grades and test scores.

When will I find out if I've been accepted?
Once the application is complete, a decision is made within 2-3 weeks.
How much is tuition?
2007-2008 annual tuition for full-time ULV students is currently $25,590. Room and board is approximately $10,190. Actual cost may vary depending on room occupancy and meal plan.
Do you offer scholarships?
Yes, we offer merit scholarships. We also encourage students to complete a FAFSA form and the GPA verification form (California residents only) for maximum financial aid eligibility.
Does ULV have athletic scholarships?
We participate in NCAA Division III athletics and are not eligible to award athletic scholarships.

What is it like to live on campus?
At ULV, we understand that leaving home can be a big adjustment. Our intellectually stimulating, ethnically diverse residence halls are designed to help ease the transition. With a full slate of activities that appeal to every interest, the ULV student community strives to make newcomers feel welcome, expose them to new interests and offer them unlimited ways to get involved on campus.
What if I don't get along with my roommate?
Resident Assistants are available to help resolve problems that occur within the residence halls. Concerns will be carefully evaluated, and appropriate action will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
What do I have to do if I decide to move back home?
Contact the Associate Director of Housing. He or she will advise you about canceling your contract.
What types of food are served in the dining halls?
From grilled-to-order broiler specials at the International Exhibition station to hand tossed pizza specialties, Davenport Dining Hall offers a wide range of nutritious and delicious options for students to enjoy. In addition to breakfast, lunch and dinner, Davenport offers an all-day, self-serve salad bar that includes fresh fruit, soup and condiments. There is also a selection of sandwiches, cereal, pastries and desserts available.
How accessible are the professors at ULV?
Professors are readily available to address student questions and concerns. Whether students need help with registration or coursework, professors are actively involved and invested in each student's individual success.
Is there a place where I can go if I need tutoring?
For students who feel they need extra academic help, the Learning Enhancement Center, or LEC, is a great resource. Peer tutors are available to assist students with their schoolwork in all subject areas and the LEC is open five days a week and select weekends with some weekend hours available.
Where can I go to purchase textbooks?
The University of La Verne Bookstore is located right on campus and offers everything a student could possibly need for class. The bookstore is open Monday through Saturday.
How safe are the residence halls?
Campus Safety officers frequently visit each of ULV's residence halls. Resident Assistants are also on hand at all times to keep order on the floors and be the eyes and ears of each community.
How can I get involved on campus?
ULV offers a practically endless list of ways for students to get involved. The university has three Greek sororities and three Greek fraternities, clubs organized around specific majors, recreational activities, and a variety of cultural organizations. During the annual ULV Club Fair, students can find out more about individual organizations and sign up for the ones that suit their interests.
Do your Greek organizations practice hazing?
Hazing is strictly prohibited at University of La Verne. If hazing activities occur, the offending organization risks being expelled from campus.
What sports are offered at La Verne?
The University of La Verne invites students to participate in everything from basketball to track and field. We offer a total of 19 varsity sports, state-of-the-art training facilities and a long roster of dedicated coaches.
How can I be part of a ULV athletics team?
Students who would like to participate on a sports team must maintain at least a 2.0 grade point average and be in good standing with the Registrar's Office.
What technology is available on campus?
The Office of Information Technology maintains six open computer labs on campus that are available 16 hours a day, seven days a week (excluding holidays). There are 16-24 computers in each of the six campus labs. These computers are upgraded on a three-year life cycle, ensuring students have access to current technology. Four of these labs provide PCs, one provides Macs (ACB lab), and the LEC lab provides both PCs and Macs. Each lab has a variety of software applications available (such as Microsoft Office), and one or more laser printers are available for student use on a pay-for-print basis.
Can I connect to the Internet with my laptop?
Yes. Students with laptops can connect to the Internet with either plug-in connections or wireless cards. The Wilson Library has approximately 30 network jacks located in study rooms, and wireless internet access is available throughout the library and on its outside patio. Students must register their laptops at the library's front desk to obtain wireless access.
Are the residence halls wired for Internet access?
Yes. All residence halls provide internet access for each student. The Oaks residence halls have hard-wired connection points, while StuHan and Brandt halls are fully wireless.
Can I get help with my personal technology on campus?
Limited technical support for students' personal technology is available. Students experiencing internet connectivity problems in the residence halls can request assistance from the Office of Information Technology (OIT) Help Desk at (909) 593-3511 ext. 4130. If a student's operating system is having problems with viruses or malware, a Residence Hall Technician can be requested for trouble-shooting assistance via the OIT Help Desk at ext. 4130.
Will I get an e-mail account?
Yes. All students are automatically assigned a ULV e-mail account upon registering for their first class.
Does ULV offer courses online?
Yes. Most undergraduate online classes include some form of classroom experience, though, to ensure students still have the opportunity to interact with faculty and fellow students on an ongoing basis. Online technology is often used to present and reinforce course materials and content, allowing for a richer, more interactive classroom experience.
Can I access library materials online?
Yes. Students can access the library catalog, connect to databases, renew books and contact a librarian online.
