MHA Admission Requirements


To be eligible for acceptance into the MHA or Graduate Certificate program, an applicant must have:

Most applicants have some experience in the healthcare field. Internships are recommended and may be arranged if an applicant has limited or no experience in the field.

International students with a degree from a non-English speaking institution, where English is not the primary language of instruction and of the geographic area, must establish minimal proficiency in English. The English language requirement could be accomplished by one of the following:

  1. A minimum score on the Test of English as a Foreign Language - TOEFL of 550 (computer based TOEFL of 213), or more;
  2. A satisfactory completion of the University of La Verne English Proficiency Test (EPT - 5.0 and higher); or
  3. A satisfactory completion of prerequisite English Development courses at the ULV, as indicated by a placement exam.
