| Mission: The mission of the ULV Microscopy and Imaging Center is to provide imaging resources for a broad range of academic programs and research projects. In the core tradition of ULV, the center also provides services to the community.
Resources: The resources of the Microscopy and Imaging Center include research grade transmission and reflectance microscopes, capable of most standard modes, including phase contrast and fluorescence photomicroscopy . The Center also maintains a JEOL 6460LV Scanning Electron Microscope - Energy Dispersive X-ray system. An STEM attachment allows the generation of transmission electrion micrographs. Sample preparation equipment includes microtomes, a glass knife maker, a critical point drier, and a sputter coater. The equipment and options have been chosen to provide the flexibility needed to support the diverse needs of our institution. For more information on equipment click on the equipment link above .
