The Office of Multicultural Services (OMS), a department within the Division of Student Affairs was created to offer additional support in carrying out the University of La Verne mission statement relating to diversity: "The University promotes the goal of community within a context of diversity. The University, therefore, encourages students to understand and appreciate the diversity of cultures which exists locally, nationally, and internationally..."
