University Chorale Stephen Gothold, conductor

The ULV Chorale is the main choral ensemble of the University of La Verne campus. It is comprised of both music and non-music majors and meets every weekday from 12:00 p.m.-12:50 p.m. ULV Chorale performs four main concerts per year as well as outside concerts. Highlights of past years include performances of Faure's Requiem, An Evening of American Songs with special guest William Warfield, and most recently featured on the Walton Music Publishers 2002-2003 Choral Sampler Compact Disc recording.

Chamber Singers
Chamber Singers

The ULV Chamber Singers is comprised of twenty-four primarily upper-division music majors and minors singing a variety of literature. The group sings an eclectic mix of early music as well as some vocal jazz. Chamber Singers meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00-2:50. Membership in Chamber Singers also requires membership in Chorale. This group also performs on the four major choral concerts of the year as well as many off-campus venues.

West African Drum Ensemble
West African Drum Ensemble Steven Biondo, director

Through this course students will learn basic technique for playing the instruments of the West African Drum Ensemble. Students will also learn the cultural background and tradition associated with the instruments used, and selected rhythms. The music will be taught in the aural tradition. The ensemble will perform at least one concert during the semester.
