Tim Wendt
Adjunct Music Faculty Trumpet Tim Wendt comes from a musical family - his grandfather and father were both professional musicians. After attending the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music and Morehead (KY) State University (majoring in Music Theory and Trumpet Performance), Tim spent seven years in the United States Air Force band program. In 1994, he won a Concerto Competition sponsored by the Riverside (CA) Community College. Tim has held Adjunct Faculty positions at the University of La Verne (CA); University of California, Riverside; the Los Angeles County High School of the Arts, and several nationally-renown jazz camps, and has done national tours with Opera a la Carte, The Dallas Brass, John Tesh, Michael Crawford and Brian Setzer. He has studied privately with Uan Rasey, Charlie Davis, Steve Huffsteter, Ron Stout and Paul Hilgeman. A versatile trumpeter comfortable in any performance situation, Tim current credits include Principal and Solo Trumpet with the Crystal Cathedral Orchestra; Co-Principal Trumpet with the Pacific Brass Ensemble; ne of the trumpets?with the Cathedral Brass; San Bernardino, Riverside, Redlands and Redlands Bowl Symphony Orchestras; the Buddy Childers, Bill Holman, Jack Sheldon, Gerald Wilson, Chuck Flores, and Buddy Collette big bands; Elvis Schoenberg "Orchestra Surreal;" more than ninety musicals and operas; over 750 TV, film, and jingle sessions; and has appeared in movies and television shows as a background musician. He is a clinician for Warburton Mouthpieces and Kanstul Musical Instruments, and designed the "ZKT 1500TW" trumpet, the Tim Wendt model trumpet. Fraternal and professional memberships include Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia and the Sigma Pi fraternity; Local 47, AFM: The International Trumpet Guild, and the Recording Musician's Association, Los Angeles Chapter.
