M.S. Assistantship in stream invertebrate/fish ecology Agency/Location: Iowa State University, Dept. of Natural Resource Ecology and Management, Ames, IA Responsibilities: Work toward M.S. evaluating effects of streambed stabilization structures on: (1) macroinvertebrate abundance and diversity, and (2) fish passage. Carry out summer fieldwork. Supervise undergraduate technician. Coordinate activities with agency biologists. Assist with laboratory teaching for one semester. Analyze data and write annual progress reports for funding agency. Fulfill requirements for M.S. degree. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in biology, water resources, natural resources, fisheries, ecology, entomology or related field. Coursework and/or experience in aquatic ecology, stream ecology, macroinvertebrates and fisheries highly desirable. Must be physically capable and willing to work long hours in demanding conditions.
