Microsoft Campus Agreement
The University of La Verne is a member of the Association of Independent California Colleges and
Universities (AICCU) through which we participate in an annual Microsoft Campus (licensing)
Agreement (MCA) for the Windows operating system and Office products. This agreement contains a
faculty/staff "Work-At-Home" provision that allows ULV faculty and staff to lease these Microsoft products at a substantial discount.
Restrictions of Work-At-Home use of Microsoft software include:
- Faculty and staff are not licensed to use the software for personal purposes.
- The software can only be loaded on one laptop or desktop.
- The software may only be used so long as the institution participates in the annual MCA (if the University does not renew the annual agreement, the software must be deleted from the faculty/staff member's computer).
- Faculty and staff are responsible for unauthorized use of the product, however the institution agrees to "provide all reasonable cooperation to Microsoft to investigate and remedy any unauthorized reproduction of the software..."
You can see a detailed list of the restrictions at:
Distribution of Microsoft media is handled via the Web by the Foundation for California Community Colleges (FCCC), which AICCU partners with.
