User Guide for ULV's New Webmail

Note: The User Guide for ULV's New Webmail on this Web site has not been fully updated yet to reflect the changes incorporated since the latest system release that was installed on 08/26/2006. In the meantime, use the Help link on the left pane after logging into Webmail to view our e-mail vendor's latest (but unmodified) Webmail help guide.

Accessing ULV's New Webmail:
(Procedures subject to change--check here for the latest updates)

Step 1. Log into ULV's Webmail at https://mail.ulv.edu or click on the WebMail icon on the main page on ULV's Web Site.

Step 2. Enter your username in the "User:" field and password in the "Password:" field


The login interface

For the Username field: Enter your current mail account username. Students: if you do not know your username then please see http://www.ulv.edu/oit/dcs/pdf-forms/access-email.pdf

For the Password field: Once your account has been created on ULV's e-mail system , your password is your initial password is your ULV ID combined with the last four digits of your Social Security Number (SSN). If you do not have a SSN then your initial password will only be your ULV ID. Your ULV ID can be found on your ULV student identification card. For example, if your ULV ID is 12345678 and the last four digits of your SSN is 1234 then your initial password is 123456781234.

• We highly recommend that you change your initial password after logging in for the first time to ensure proper security of your e-mail account.
• If you use an e-mail client such as Outlook, Eudora, or Netscape Messenger to check your e-mail: your username and password are the same as for Webmail (described above). Therefore if you change your Webmail password, you must input the new password into your e-mail client.
