The Resume

As a result of resume counseling with a Career Counselor at Career Services, students will learn that their resume is a marketing tool designed to help them get a job interview. Throughout their session students will learn about formatting options and strategies to help them summarize key points of their resume.

As a result of resume counseling with a Career Counselor at Career Services, students will learn how to layout their past work experience in reverse chronological order and list training and education related to the position they are applying for.

As a result of resume counseling with a Career Counselor at Career, students will learn how their resume should focus on their current job target and how it should describe the skills, knowledge and experience that are needed to perform the target job.

As a result of resume counseling with a Career Counselor at Career Services, students will learn how to show their accomplishments, not just past job duties and descriptions. They will also be able to summarize those accomplishments in simple, powerful, action statements that emphasize results which would benefit the employer.
