Diversity Enrichment Model

As a result of the Housing & Residential Life Diversity Enrichment Model, Resident Assistants will increase the awareness and understanding of diversity issues of residential students via targeted activities and programs. The Diversity Enrichment Model is a holistic programming approach to diversity education. Instead of focusing on any one particular affinity, diverse group on which to base multicultural-based programming for a time period (monthly in this instance), themes are identified for each month (i.e. food, fashion, history, etc.) and programming for multiple diverse groups occurs during each awareness month. There are six themed awareness months that occur during each academic year, and Resident Assistants are required to implement at least 3 programs throughout the year that will enrich the lives of their residents by providing multicultural programming.
