Sexual Assault Policy

The University of La Verne does not tolerate sexual assault in any form. The University will promptly investigate all allegations of sexual assault and take appropriate action when necessary. Any student who individually or in concert with others, participates in any of the following is subject to university discipline as well as criminal prosecution:

Reporting Sexual Misconduct

Any person who believes that he or she has been victimized by such acts is encouraged to report such an incident to University officials, law enforcement officials, or both. He or she will be supported by the University in a confidential manner. Any incident of sexual assault can be reported to any faculty or staff member on campus, including the following: Dean and Associate Dean of Student Affairs, Campus Safety Staff, Campus Ministry, Health Services, and the Housing and Residence Life Staff.

Sanctions

Violations of ULV's policy on sexual assault will be subject to various sanctions including, but not limited to, the following: cancellation of housing contract; suspension from the University; dismissal from the University. Both the accused and the accuser will be informed of any campus disciplinary procedure. The University will make changes in a victim's academic and living situation, if at all possible, in order to reduce the trauma of the incident.
