Sociology/Anthropology Internship Program

The Behavioral Sciences Internship program offers upper division students the opportunity to apply theoretical and conceptual knowledge in their major to empirical settings. Students may choose their placement from over 130 agencies, in such diverse areas as group homes for juvenile delinquents, Youth Authority, police departments, courts, probation, parole, child development centers, schools, child protective services, community centers, mental health facilities, drug and alcohol treatment centers, counseling centers, retirement facilities, women's shelters, coroner's offices, and research options. The class meets once a week and is conducted as a professional experience, debriefing, sharing, and supporting each other. During the internship semester, students spend a total of 96 hours on site and complete regular assignments.
