In the seventeen years that I have been involved with ULV, I have learned
much about all aspects of our environment. As Director of Facilities, I have
come to understand that many of my decisions are framed by choices that will
affect the environment in varying degrees. Our planet's resources are finite. We
must endeavor to do our best to reduce or minimize our ecological footprint. I
am working to do my part to help through making informed choices and helping
others to understand the importance of doing the right thing. I joined the task force because I see our human population capable of
permanently harming our beautiful but increasingly vulnerable planet unless each
of us works toward a more sustainable style of living. In our culture of
striving to "produce" and "conquer" we tend to lose sight of the long-term
effects for future generations. Individuals can make a positive difference in
our environment and the task force represents a generative force that I intend
to support. I am on the committee because I am a representative for SCE and will relay
messages to all off campus sites. Also, I am on the sub-committee for
publicity.
