Porches was first presented as a benefit for the South Coast Ecumenical Council's Good Samaritan Counseling Center at St. Luke's Presbyterian Church on California's Palos Verdes Peninsula in 1995. David DiAngelo directed Porches, with musical direction by John Lehman. The roles of Sarah and Elizabeth were played by Linda Griffin and Deborah Tyler.
David DiAngelo directed Porches again, with John Lehman as musical director, in 1997 at the Actor's Repertory Theatre's Courtyard Playhouse in Rolling Hills Estates, California. Gertrude Bradley and Joan Bradow played Sara and Elizabeth. There were four performances per week for six weeks, all selling out.
