Louise Murray Midget has authored several short works, including The Land of Liberty and A Sustaining Presence. She holds MA degrees in both School Administration and Family Therapy and a Doctorate in Education. Louise currently teaches drama ans speech at South Shores School for the Visual and Performing Arts, in San Pedro. She has taught graduate education courses in multicultural perspectives at Cal State University, Domingues Hills. Louise facilitates intercultural dialogues in seminar and retreat settings.

Porches was first presented as a benefit for the South Coast Ecumenical Council's Good Samaritan Counseling Center at St. Luke's Presbyterian Church on California's Palos Verdes Peninsula in 1995. David DiAngelo directed Porches, with musical direction by John Lehman. The roles of Sarah and Elizabeth were played by Linda Griffin and Deborah Tyler.

David DiAngelo directed Porches again, with John Lehman as musical director, in 1997 at the Actor's Repertory Theatre's Courtyard Playhouse in Rolling Hills Estates, California. Gertrude Bradley and Joan Bradow played Sara and Elizabeth. There were four performances per week for six weeks, all selling out.
