A basic knowledge of and appreciation for chemistry is vital in today's high-tech., interrelated world. Understanding of chemical aspects of life helps us give meaning and purpose to the world around us. In Introductory Chemistry, the student is helped to understand the impact of his or her action on the environment.
Introductory Chemistry is a non-major course designed to satisfy the general
education requirement for the physical sciences. This course is designed for
students with little or no background in chemistry and physics and will
introduce students to the basic principles of Chemistry which are informative
and relative to everyday life. At the end of this course the student should
have a fundamental understanding of chemical nomenclature, chemical problem
solving, and chemical reactions. The problem solving skills obtained in this
course will be useful long after you have finished this course.CHEM103 can be
taken without lab for 3 semester hours or concurrently with CHEM103L (lab) for
