Frequently Asked Questions

1. How will the Campus Center Project affect parking?

Parking is essential resource for our campus and we are incorporating it into our planning. We have submitted a Campus Master Plan for review by the city of La Verne. We are exploring every possible option for expanding parking in the near term as well as the intermediate and long-term future.

2. Will money for the Campus Center be taken from the operating budget?

No. The operating budget funds salaries, scholarships, program expenditures, and facility operations. It is not utilized for renovation or construction. We draw on different funding sources for renovation and construction than we do for the operating budget. Many of the contributions in support of the Campus Center Project will be exceptional gifts - made for a specific purpose during a campaign - rather than the type of annual gifts that support the operating budget for which we request renewal every single year.

3. Do we have the City's approval (permits) for the projects?

The City of La Verne is aware of the university's proposed development. The new projects are incorporated into a new master plan that has been submitted to the city. Following approval of the master plan, the university will be in a position to submit building plans and obtain construction permits.
