Message from President Morgan

While the storm itself has long since passed, help is still needed to aid those affected by Hurricane Katrina. I am extremely proud to report that many from the ULV Community continue to provide assistance to the Gulf Coast region.

In the aftermath of such devastation, a number of segments from the extended ULV community have organized to help bring relief to those in need. Under the direction of Campus Minister Debbie Roberts, ULV has stepped forward to assist those displaced by the hurricane. The Associated Student Federation has held events to benefit hurricane victims. Our admissions and enrollment service staffs have been involved in assisting displaced students from Tulane University to transfer to ULV and other schools so they may continue their studies. University employees are contributing to recognized national organizations to support relief efforts. And some individuals have traveled or will travel to the region to personally assist with the recovery.

While the challenges created by this calamity remain great and require the endeavors of countless volunteers, I am encouraged by the outpouring of assistance from the ULV community and throughout the world. Thanks to the generosity, support and commitment of so many, Gulf Coast region residents will find the strength needed to rebuild their lives and their communities.

Sincerely,

Steve Morgan
President
